The song "Layla" by Derek and the Dominos is often criticized for its portrayal of women as objects of desire and for its lyrics that seem to glorify possessiveness and obsession. The lyrics depict a man's longing for a woman who is out of his reach, and some argue that this perpetuates harmful stereotypes about women and relationships. However, others argue that the song is a reflection of the artist's personal experiences and emotions, and should be interpreted in that context. Ultimately, whether the song is considered sexist or not is subjective and open to interpretation. **

Layla was specifically forbidden because she was from a different tribe that was considered an enemy of the protagonist's tribe. The two tribes had a history of conflict and animosity towards each other, making any relationship between Layla and the protagonist unacceptable. Additionally, Layla's presence could potentially lead to further tensions and conflicts between the two tribes, which is why she was forbidden from being with the protagonist. **
