The crocheted placemat curls up because of the nature of the stitches used in crocheting. The natural tendency of the yarn to twist and the tension of the stitches cause the edges of the placemat to curl inwards. This is a common characteristic of crochet projects and can be minimized by using different stitch patterns or blocking the finished piece. **

For gray plates, a white placemat would be a good choice as it will create a nice contrast and make the gray plates stand out. Alternatively, a light gray or silver placemat could complement the plates and create a cohesive look. Avoid using a dark or bold colored placemat as it may clash with the gray plates and overwhelm the overall table setting. **

To get the Gold Flower into the inventory of New Super Mario Bros 2, you need to find a Gold Flower power-up in the game. The Gold Flower allows Mario to shoot golden fireballs that turn blocks into coins. You can find the Gold Flower in certain levels or by hitting a Gold Ring, which turns all enemies into gold versions that drop coins when defeated. Once you have the Gold Flower power-up, it will automatically be added to your inventory, and you can use it in levels to collect coins and defeat enemies. **

Choosing between a flower pot or a flower pot with a saucer depends on your specific needs. A flower pot with a saucer is beneficial for indoor plants as it helps prevent water from leaking onto surfaces. On the other hand, a flower pot without a saucer may be preferred for outdoor plants to allow excess water to drain freely. Consider the location and watering habits of your plants when deciding between the two options. **

Ideally, there should be about 1-2 inches of distance from the edge of the table for the placemat. This allows for the placemat to sit comfortably on the table without hanging over the edge. It also helps prevent the placemat from getting in the way when setting the table or using utensils. Ultimately, the distance can vary depending on personal preference and the size of the placemat. **

Flower stems and flower water can smell bad due to the presence of bacteria and other microorganisms that thrive in the warm, nutrient-rich environment of the water. As the flowers sit in the water, these microorganisms break down organic matter, producing unpleasant odors. Additionally, the decomposition of the plant material itself can release compounds that contribute to the bad smell. To prevent this, it's important to regularly change the water and trim the stems of the flowers to remove any decaying material. **
